Casio has announced the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z80, a digital camera that features a very compact, tightly formed design which offers the functionality needed to easily take photos and shoot movies. The incorporates 8.1 million effective pixels and a 3x optical zoom lens and 2.6 in wide TFT color LCD Display. It is available in six body colors - pale pink, vivid pink, green, blue, black, and silver.

Casio has announced EXILIM Zoom EX-Z200 and EX-Z100, two 10.1 megapixel digital cameras with a wide 28 mm lens and 4x optical zoom  The new EXILIM Zoom EX-Z200 and EXILIM Zoom EX-Z100 feature an EXILIM series first 4x optical zoom lens that can shoot as wide as 28 mm (35mm equivalent). The cameras  incorporate automatic scene differentiation and allow the shutter to be released automatically, thanks to Casio's commitment to keep improving the convenience offered by digital cameras.

Casio has announced the EXILIM EX-F1 Digital Camera. The EXILIM Pro EX-F1 incorporates a new high speed CMOS sensor and high speed LSI processor. After building in 6.0 million effective pixels and a 12X optical zoom, the developers focused on achieving a burst shooting speed capability. The Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 digital camera is capable of 60fps burst shooting and 1200fps movie recording.

Sony has introduced its new α (alpha) DSLR-A200 camera. The new model is designed to be faster, lighter and easier to use. Upgraded features include a wider, 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCDTM screen, a more compact body and an easily-accessible mode dial, an easy-to-use function menu, improved noise control; an auto focus speed 1.7x faster than the previous model, improved predictive control performance, quieter shutter sound, automatic pop-up flash, and a percentage battery life indicator.

This release also adds tethered shooting support for all Nikon SLR's on Intel Macs (PowerPC Macs and Windows were already supported).
