Ricoh has announced the release of the CX1, a new digital camera with a 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens (28-200 mm in 35 mm film equivalent focal length). The CX1's expanded dynamic range of 12 EV equivalent makes it possible to capture high-contrast scenes in a way not possible with earlier models. In addition, functions such as multi-pattern auto white balance and multi-target AF enable the new CX1 to create beautiful images giving an almost naked-eye impression.

Sony has announced the new Cyber-shot T900 and T90 digital cameras featuring 12.1 Megapixel sensors and 3.5" (T900) and 3.0" (230k dots)(T90) LCD screens. Other functions include 720p HD movie recording and Intelligent Scene Recognition. Just 15.1mm slim, the T900 will be available in a choice of silver, black, red and bronze for about $380. Even slimmer at just 13.9mm, the T90 offers silver, black, brown, pink and blue colour options for about $300.

Sony has announced the new Cyber-shot H20 digital camera, featuring 10.1 Megapixel sensor, 10x optical zoom lens, 3-inch LCD screen and HD movie recording. Other features include Optical SteadyShot for clearer handheld shooting, BIONZ processor, Enhanced Smile Shutter and Face Detection technologies. The Cyber-shot H20 will be available in in April in black color The suggested retail price is about $280.

Sony has announced the new 12.1 and 10.1 Megapixel Cyber-shot S980 and S930 digital cameras, offerring a great value introduction to the Cyber-shot experience. Available in a choice of silver, black and pink colour options, they’re packed with serious features like Face Detection and SteadyShot image stabilisation for clearer pictures in any situation. The Cyber-shot S980 will be available from end-February 2009 while the S930 will be available from mid-April 2009

Sony has announced the new Cyber-shot W290, W270 and W230 digital cameras. The W290 and W270 offer HD movie recording, plus a powerful Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom with 28mm wide angle lens to fit more into the scene. Also available, the W230 offers five attractive colour options. High-quality 12.1 megapixel resolution is complemented by a 4x optical zoom lens, Optical SteadyShot and a large 3.0-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen.

Canon has added four new cameras to it's Digital ELPH series. The PowerShot SD970 IS features 12.1-Megapixel sensor, 5x Optical Zoom lens with IS and 3.0-inch PureColor LCD II screen. The SD960 IS comes with the same 12.1-Megapixel sensor and incorporates 4x Optical Zoom lens with IS and 2.8-inch display, while the SD780 IS comes 3x Optical Zoom with Optical Image Stabilization and a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD II screen.
