Fujifilm FinePix J250Fujifilm has announced the FinePix J250. The new camera features 10 Megapixel sensor and high-quality wide-angle Fujinon 5x zoom lens. The FinePix J250 also features Fujifilm's Dual Image Stabilisation technology - a first in J series cameras – which combines CCD shift technology with high ISO settings to achieve virtually blur free images. The FinePix J250 has a large 3" LCD screen for easy viewing. Its diminutive size means you can slip it in your pocket or bag and take it with you wherever you go.

Canon PowerShot G10Canon has released a new firmware update for the PowerShot G10 camera. Version 1.0.2.0 corrects the phenomenom where RAW images are captured by continuous shooting under the ISO 1600 setting, abnormal data is recorded and a magenta cast appears in the second and subsequent RAW images. This phenomenon also occurs in the second and subsequent recorded RAW images captured by single shooting, but only if the LCD monitor display mode is set to the OFF position.

Panasonic has announced updated firmware for its Micro Four-Thirds Lumix DMC-G1 camera. Version 1.2 improves performances in the Auto White Balance and color reproduction and reliability on the flash operation in low temperature environments. File write back from PC to the camera is enabled also for the models shipped for Europe. Instructions for applying the new firmware update can be found on Four-Thirds firmware update site.

When mounted on a DX-format camera body, it enables photographers to document their world with a lens that produces a picture angle similar to the field of vision as seen through the human eye.

Samsung ES10Samsung has announced the new ES10 digital camera, featuring 8.1 megapixel 1/2.5" CCD sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) and 2.5" Intelligent LCD (230K). The new model also incorporates Beauty Shot, Face Detection, Self Portrait and Red-eye Fix. The Samsung ES10 will be available in Japan in Silver, Black, White and Pink.

 
Canon offers free fix for EOS 5D mirrors PDF Print E-mail

Canon has learned that in rare occurrences the main mirror of some EOS 5D digital SLR cameras may fall off, due to deterioration in the strength of adhesion, and is now offering a free fix to the problem via Canon Service Centres. The phenomenon on the EOS 5D happens when the main mirror of the camera falls off and images cannot be checked on the viewfinder. The free mirror fix will be offered regardless of the warranty status.

Version 1.0.1.0 corrects a phenomenon that when the following settings are used in combination, if the shutter button is pressed halfway to focus during shooting (AND the AF frame magnifies), but the shutter button is released without taking the picture, the camera will lose power.
