Adobe has released a Photoshop CS4 plugin to Disable Canvas Rotation Via Trackpad. On MacBook Air and recent MacBook Pro systems, Adobe Photoshop CS4 can use a multitouch gesture to enable rotation of the document canvas. Some customers find that the canvas gets rotated accidentally through inadvertent use of the gesture on the trackpad. The plug-in is available only for OS X.

Olympus has announces the "Olympus Space Project" as its ninety-year anniversary project. Dr. Koichi Wakata, the astronaut of JAXA will use the Olympus E-3 Digital SLR camera and ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses to photograph the Earth from the "Kibo", the Japanese experimental module within the ISS (International Space Station). The photographs will be posted on Olympus' web sites and shown at photo exhibitions. The next launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery will carry Dr. Wakata and his E-3 to the ISS.

Adobe has released an update for Photoshop CS4. Version 11.0.1 addresses a number of issues discovered after Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 Extended (11.0) software were released. The most significant fixes in the Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update include a number of issues that could cause slow performance. A problem that could result in a crash when pasting formatted text has been fixed. and a crash that could result from a corrupt font no longer occurs.

SanDisk has announced the availability its latest SanDisk ImageMate memory card readers. In addition to the traditional drag-and-drop method, the new SanDisk ImageMate readers streamline the process of transferring digital content by including a transfer button that automatically launches a user-defined application or web site. A single press of the reader’s button will open a designated application such as Adobe Photoshop or a flickr.com account, and from there the user can transfer or edit photos.

Tamron has announced that it will launch the SP AF 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 Di II LD Aspherical (IF) for Canon on March 3, 2009. The new lens features an unprecedented 2.4X zoom ratio in its class of ultra wide-angle zoom lenses. The innovative, high-performance ultra wide-angle zoom lens is designed exclusively for Canon and Nikon digital SLRs with APS-C sized image sensors. Pentax and Sony mount models will be announced at a later date.

Olympus has announced the launch of the FL-BK04 Flash Bracket and FL-BKM03 Twin Flash Bracket. These new accessories for the Olympus E-System digital SLR cameras are scheduled to be released in April, 2009. Also announced today, the PT-E06 underwater case has been specially customised for the Olympus E-620 and is waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 40 metres.
